dakinandone: I'd like to ask you all something as a whole. I am a freshman in college majoring in music education and I'm doing fantastic in all my classes. I feel very good about where I'm at. Except one thing. I am god-awful at aural skills. I'm failing because of my melodic dictation test. I just want to know how I can go about practicing to help improve on this important skill. Resources and tips would be so appreciated. Thanks!
I’m sending this out to the think tank. My advice is to listen to popular tunes and write them down and then transpose them up and down the circle of fifths (while playing it on piano). Try starting with the Family Guy theme.
