I think some people didn’t understand my CPS Strike post.

I said that striking was not the correct solution.  I didn’t say that the teachers don’t deserve better.  I didn’t say that they should just accept being treated like crap.  But  to not do your job isn’t going to make things better.  It’s going to hurt the kids more than teaching in crappy conditions.  At least they would be taught something.  

The union reps are responsible for contract negotiations, correct?  The teachers went on strike to strong arm CPS into getting what they want.  And they’re doing so at the expense of the students.  That is not okay in my book.  Let the union reps fight for you, but don’t use the kids as pawns.  That’s against what a teacher stands for.
